    Main Idea




    Read a variety of literary genres using novels, short stories, poetry, and other types of text.

    Write in a variety of applications including narrative, expository, argumentative, persusive and descriptive texts as well as response to literature.
    Review structural components of reading/writing including setting, point of view, characterization, mood, theme, plot, conflict, and style.

    Use proper conventions including grammar, capitalization and spelling as well as use of advanced descriptive vocabulary.




     10% of marking period grade.




     30% of marking period grade.



     60% of marking period grade.



    Message to Parents

    My purpose is to help your child succeed in my class and be fully prepared for the next grade level. I have very high expectations for my students, and I promise that I will do my very best to help and encourage them this year. Please help me by encouraging your child to talk with me as soon as a problem or concern arises. Please do not hesitate to contact me. I’m looking forward to a great year!
