 High Frequency Words |
"Sight Words" are words we see all the time. Knowing high frequency words helps emerging readers be successful. Several words were introduced in Kindergarten. Additional words will be added all year long in first grade. High frequency words need to be memorized! The best way is to practice reading and playing games with them. Although some of the words can be sounded out, the goal should be to recognize them on sight. Your child will bring home the words being introduced each week. Please keep the cards in their "Word Box" and practice until memorized. |
